Greenock Health and Care Centre wins Architecture: Health Building or Project at the Scottish Design Awards

We are delighted that Greenock Health and Care Centre won Architecture: Health Building or Project of the Year at the Scottish Design Awards last night.
The £21 million centre, designed by Hoskins Design and constructed by BAM Construction, was created through a partnership between Inverclyde HSCP, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC), Inverclyde Council, Hub West Scotland and the local community.
As well as modernising the existing facilities, the new site makes services more integrated, accessible and efficient for patients and service users, while contributing to the wider goals of community regeneration and addressing health inequalities.

Carntyne Primary School Extension

Carntyne Primary School Extension

Pupils in the East End of Glasgow will soon be able to benefit from the extension planned to the Carntyne Primary School. Hub West Scotland (hWS) completed the new primary school in 2018 and following the positive effect the new school has had on pupil enrolments hWS were asked by Glasgow City Council to manage the procurement and delivery of the extension. The extension will provide four additional classrooms along with enhanced outdoor learning and play areas.

hWS are delighted to continue our partnership with Glasgow City Council. The construction work will be carried out by BAM Construction and will be maintained by Robertson FM, supported by architects Holmes Miller, civil and structural engineers Waterman Structures and mechanical and electrical engineers Hawthorne Boyle, and cost consultant Brown and Wallace. Our thanks also to the wider adviser team and funder for their support in achieving a variation to an existing DBFM project.

Work is due to commence this summer and will be ready for the school to use in early 2023.
