Iain is a graduate of Glasgow University and a Chartered Accountant who began his career at Price Waterhouse Management Consultants.  He has held senior roles in finance; consulting; manufacturing; broadcasting; technology; education, and property sectors. 

He has led the delivery of complex and award-winning business transformation, infrastructure investment and outsourcing programmes with a capital value in excess of £2 billion.  These include the transformation of the BBC’s property estate and the delivery of the City of Glasgow College’s Riverside and City campus developments which were shortlisted for the Stirling Prize.

Non-executive roles include the Board of the National Library of Scotland and Chair of the Library’s Audit Committee, and membership of the Finance and Audit Committee at SCIAF.

His most recent role was leading the delivery and construction of women’s custody projects throughout Scotland.
