Possilpoint Community Centre
This project involves the refurbishment of an existing community facility in the North of Glasgow. The building dates from 1980 and needs significant investment to modernise the facility to a more suitable standard. The centre is currently owned by Glasgow City Council but is subject to a Community Asset Transfer application to bring the building into the ownership of the Possilpark People’s Trust.
The proposed works include a new and inviting main entrance and frontage which will signify the positive change within the building. A full re-wire will be carried out and a new heating system will be installed which will be futureproofed to allow for a change to a decarbonised heating system in the future. External wall insulation, new windows and new external doors will also be fitted to improve the thermal performance of the building. Internally, the facility will be fully refurbished with improvements made to the internal layout and a brighter central breakout space will be created through the introduction of a large new rooflight at the heart of the building.
It is hoped construction works will commence in late summer 2025 with completion expected in the early summer 2026.
