EDC Affordable Housing Investment Programme – Huntershill
EDC in partnership with hub West Scotland are fully committed in delivering new affordable homes.
The Affordable Housing Investment Programme seeks to develop brownfield and vacant sites throughout various locations in East Dunbartonshire and provide Passivhaus certified social housing units. The design proposals have been developed in collaboration with all key stakeholders and are sensitive to their context by way of enhancing the surrounding areas; maximising quality and being an exemplar for social housing.
It is EDC’s aspiration to develop sustainable, zero carbon energy efficient homes to reduce carbon expenditure and running costs for future tenants.
An existing vacant site, adjacent to the Category B listed Huntershill House, in Bishopbriggs will provide 12nr Passivhaus certified affordable new homes. The development includes a range of 2 person units consisting of cottage flats for varying needs; A proportion will be fully accessible dwellings.
