Campsie Memorial Hall

This project involves the refurbishment and improvement of an existing community building on Main Street, Lennoxtown. Dating from 1866, the building is owned by East Dunbartonshire Council and managed / operated by the Campsie Memorial Hall Trust. The proposal intends to deliver a modernised and flexible facility for public use within the heart of the community.

The Hall will be upgraded to improve thermal performance by applying new external wall insulation and increased insulation within floors and ceilings. In addition, a new de-carbonised heating and ventilation system will be installed to make the facility more sustainable. The existing 1950s extension will be demolished and replaced by a new 2 storey extension with a new platform lift to rationalise levels within the building and make the building fully accessible. Finally, the existing Main and Lesser Halls will be fully refurbished as part of the proposals.

Construction works are planned to commence in May 2025 with completion expected in early 2026.
