Hub West Scotland is delighted to confirm that financial close has been achieved for the first of a number of sites in East Dunbartonshire Council’s Affordable Housing Investment Programme Phase 2 (AHIP2).
Works to deliver 43 new Passivhaus certified homes for social rent have now commenced on the site of the former Merkland School site in Kirkintilloch. These new energy efficient family homes will make a significant contribution to expanding EDC’s housing stock in the months to come.
Our thanks go to our Development Partner East Dunbartonshire Council and our contractor McTaggart Construction. Thanks also to our design team of abc architects, Carbon Futures, Dougall Baillie Associates, DWA, Hawthorne Boyle and Langmuir & Hay, as well as ECD architects our Passivhaus Certifier.
We look forward to the delivery of these houses and the additional local jobs, apprenticeships and training opportunities that will be a significant part of the project delivery.
