Thomas Muir Primary School
The new Thomas Muir Replacement Primary School in the Bishopbriggs area of East Dunbartonshire incorporates Woodhill and Auchinairn Primary Schools and Cleddens Learning and childcare Centre into a new, contemporary educational facility.
The school is adjacent to the existing high school, creating a campus-style education estate where children can progress from nursery to high school.
The new school offers the highest quality indoor and outdoor learning and teaching environments and flexible learning spaces to suit the learning styles and needs of all children.
Construction was complex, requiring a tandem build on a constrained sloping site. The linear design wraps around the perimeter providing a large welcoming public entrance to the facility.
